Biographies

Philip Rogerson is Chairman of Carillion plc, Aggreko plc and Bunzl plc. Until February 1998 he was Deputy Chairman of BG plc (formerly British Gas plc) having been a director since 1992, and has subsequently held a number of non-executive appointments. He was also a Trustee of the charity Changing Faces for 14 years and Chairman of the Construction and Services Leadership Group at the Prince’s Trust for 3 years.

Philippa Campbell is a chartered accountant with over 25 years experience of working for both not for profit and commercial organisations. Philippa is on the board of Berkshire Women's Aid. She also has a keen interest in keeping active to stay healthy; representing Great Britain from 1997-2007 at dragon boat racing and was a member of the team that took the gold at the World Championships in 2005.

Charlotte Dickens graduated from UCL medical school in 2003 and is a General Practitioner in London. She has an interest in Women's Health and Ear, Nose and Throat and is actively involved in medical student teaching. Charlotte is a keen fundraiser for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

Tony Griffiths is a chartered surveyor who is Director of the London Residential Valuation department of Savills, the property services agency. Tony has been a member of Central YMCA Club for 22 years. He became a member of the Club Council in the mid-1990s, prior to becoming a Governor and Trustee of Central YMCA. He is also a Governor of St Mary's RC school in Clapham, London.

Ian Guthrie is now retired from his role as Director of Special Projects for international law firm Reed Smith Richards Butler. He was previously a partner at Price Waterhouse Management Consultants. Ian became a Central YMCA Trustee in 1998 and is currently Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors. He is also Chairman of Relate in Mid Surrey.

Colleen Harris is Director of a small communications consultancy that specialises in social issues and works with a wide range of charities and NGOs. She has a long career in government communications and held senior posts in the Prime Minister’s office and the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office before being appointed Press Secretary to HRH the Prince of Wales. Colleen sits on the Boards of the Royal Albert Hall and Hackney Empire and is a member of Cancer Research UK.

Robert Hayward OBE is a former Conservative Party politician and trade association chief executive. Rob received an OBE for establishing and running the Gulf Support and remains the only serving MP ever to receive a civilian honour for services outside of politics. He has been a prominent and influential spokesmen on gay and lesbian issues since leaving parliament. He currently lives in London and is heavily involved in rugby.

Valerie Morton has held senior positions within well-known charities such as Help the Aged, NSPCC and RNIB. She now runs her own fundraising and management consultancy, and is a Non Executive of the Midlands and East Strategic Health Authority. Valerie set up a school fundraising department for the National Council of YMCAs (now YMCA England), and counts achieving her YMCA Exercise to Music qualification as one of her career highlights.

Andrew Shields is Content Manager in the Editorial Services department of the London 2012 Organising Comittee. He has written seven books, including 365 Ways to Get Fit and Master the Art of Running. Andrew is also a qualified athletics, cricket and football coach. He received a special award for Outstanding Achievement in Coaching and Volunteering from the London Active Partnership, in 2005.
